At Karate with Aoife, we believe that karate is for everyone – regardless of age or experience level.

Tiny Tigers
Designed for children who are 4 years old, or who will turn 4 by December 31 of the enrollment year, our Tiny Tigers program is the perfect introduction to karate in a fun, positive, and supportive environment.

This 30-minute class focuses on developing fundamental movement skills, coordination, balance, listening skills, and confidence through age-appropriate games and activities. Students are introduced to basic karate techniques such as punches, blocks and kicks while learning important values including respect, focus, and self-discipline.

Little Dragons
Designed for children who are 5 years old, or who will turn 5 by December 31 of the enrollment year, the Little Dragons program builds on fundamental movement skills while introducing students to more structured karate training.

This 45-minute class focuses on developing focus, balance, coordination, confidence, and self-discipline in a fun and encouraging environment. Students learn basic karate techniques, including punches, kicks, blocks, and stances, while practicing important life skills such as respect, perseverance, and teamwork.

Ninjas
The Ninjas program is a fun and engaging 1-hour karate class designed for students of all ages who are ready to progress beyond the Little Dragons program. Students graduate into Ninjas when they demonstrate the focus, maturity, and foundational skills needed for more structured karate training.

Classes focus on developing strong karate fundamentals while building confidence, discipline, coordination, fitness, and respect. Students learn and refine punches, kicks, blocks, stances, kata, and kumite skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
In addition to traditional karate training, students are introduced to sport karate concepts, including competition-style kata and kumite, goal setting, and athletic development. Whether a student wishes to train recreationally or pursue competition, the Ninjas program provides the skills and experience needed to succeed.

Adult Karate (18+)
Tailored for adult learners of all experience levels, this 1-hour class combines traditional karate training with fitness, self-defence, and personal development in a supportive and motivating environment.

Students develop technical karate skills through the practice of punches, kicks, blocks, stances, kata, and kumite, while improving strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and overall fitness. Classes also explore practical self-defence applications and strategies for building confidence both inside and outside the dojo.

University Student Karate Program
Designed specifically for post-secondary students, our University Student Karate program offers a flexible and supportive environment where students can stay active, manage stress, and develop valuable life skills while balancing academic commitments.

Karate provides a unique opportunity for students to build resilience, discipline, focus, and leadership skills that can support success both in the classroom and beyond. Whether your goal is to learn self-defence, stay physically active, meet new people, compete in sport karate, or continue your martial arts journey while attending university, this program offers a positive and welcoming community where you can thrive.

Youth Para Karate
At Karate with Aoife, we are committed to making karate accessible to everyone. Our Youth Para Karate program provides young athletes with disabilities the opportunity to participate in karate training, personal development, and competition in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Classes are adapted to meet the individual needs and abilities of each athlete while focusing on physical literacy, coordination, balance, confidence, fitness, and personal achievement. Athletes learn karate techniques, kata, and movement skills at a pace that supports their success while building self-esteem, independence, and social connections.

Self-Defence
Our Self-Defence program is designed to provide practical skills and strategies for personal safety in real-world situations. Suitable for teens and adults of all experience levels, these classes focus on awareness, prevention, confidence building, and effective self-defence techniques.

Students learn how to recognise and avoid potential threats, set personal boundaries, use verbal de-escalation strategies, and apply simple, effective physical responses when necessary. Training is conducted in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment with an emphasis on confidence and preparedness.

If for any reason, I am unable to run classes, they will be run by my assistant instructors.
